You can use this form to alert your local trading standards service to any sales of illegal tobacco and also any underage sales of tobacco or vapes. Information provided should be anonymous – please do not provide your personal details. Any information you provide will be treated in strict confidence and in line with data protection laws. Information will be shared with the relevant Scottish Trading Standards Service and will not be used for any other purpose.

Introduction
The Society of Chief Officers of Trading Standards in Scotland (SCOTSS) is committed to protecting your privacy. This form is designed to allow you to provide information anonymously about suspected illegal tobacco activity.
What information we collect
We collect only the information you choose to provide in your report. You should not include your name, contact details or any other personal information about yourself. We do not require or request any information that identifies you.
How we use the information
Any information you provide will be used solely for the purpose of assessing and investigating concerns relating to illegal tobacco activity in Scotland. Where appropriate, SCOTSS will share the information you provide with the relevant local authority Trading Standards service and, where necessary, with Police Scotland or other enforcement bodies. We will not use the information for any other purpose.
Legal basis for processing
Information provided through this form is processed to support Trading Standards enforcement activity. Where the information you submit includes personal data about other individuals, it will be processed in support of statutory enforcement duties carried out by local authority Trading Standards services.
Confidentiality and data security
All information is treated in strict confidence. Information is stored securely and only accessed by authorised personnel. Retention periods are set in line with SCOTSS data handling procedures and relevant local authority requirements.
Your rights
Because this form is intended to be anonymous and we do not ask for information that identifies you, we may not be able to apply rights such as access, correction or deletion to a particular submission.
